Step into the 17th century with this historical simulation and learn what life was like during the Canadian Fur Trade. Working in small teams, participants will play the role of North West Company traders, travelling in search of their teachers in order to trade their manufactured goods for furs. This program is designed to link up with learning goals outlined in Canadian history curricula. Students will learn about the roles played by and relationships between European and indigenous polities, traders, and villages.
